YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE FUN WITH HORSES LEARNING ABOUT THEIR

CARE, SAFETY, HANDLING AND (OF COURSE) RIDING

WHAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM SPECIAL?

Every student's favorite activity seems to be horseback riding!  We really teach the children about horses and riding from the ground up.  Students receive daily instruction in horseback riding.  Safety is our ultimate priority.  Our programs teach horsemanship and will build your children's self-confidence.

WHAT DO STUDENTS DO?

Students will learn by doing everything from horse feeding, tacking (putting equipment on the horse), washing and grooming as well as identifying the parts of a horse, saddle and bridle in addition to a daily riding lesson.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The program fee is $250 of which $100 is required as a non-refundable deposit by May 30th, 2010.  ($275 if reserved after May 30th).  The final $150 is due on the first day of your child’s session.  Checks should be made out to Ridge Valley Stables, Inc.

WHAT ARE THE AGES?

Our summer horseback program is designed for ages 6-14.  We cannot take students under the age of 6 due to the Massachusetts Equine Liability Act.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

All sessions will be from 8 AM - 12 NOON, Monday through Wednesday.  There is a $10.00 penalty for late pick-ups.  Students will not eat lunch at the ranch due to e.coli concerns unless there is a medical reason.  Please have your child eat a big breakfast before coming to class and sunscreen should be applied before coming each day!  We also require a medical and liability release prior to riding.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

Riders must wear jeans and appropriate footwear – paddock, riding, or cowboy boots are preferred – NO HIKING BOOTS.  Helmets are required for horseback riding and we have helmets available to borrow.

CAN I STAY AND WATCH MY CHILD?

We would prefer not to have the parents stay and watch.  However, please note that security is very important to us.  Our staff is kind, caring and attentive and since our inception, we have had no injuries or harm to students in any way.

WHAT PAPERWORK DO I NEED?

We require the following forms on the first day of camp:
